About Advocate Papers

Our Mission.

Advocate Papers is a social enterprise that began with our flagship issue, the Downsview Advocate in 2014. The mission of the Downsview Advocate is to provide free local news and information to residents in the community and to increase civic engagement. The Downsview Advocate expanded to the Bathurst Manor in 2016 with a unique and specific paper going into that community and has since also expanded to the Willowdale community through the Willowdale Advocate starting in 2019. All three newspapers are part of the Advocate Papers umbrella.

Advocate Papers is unique in its local content which covers community initiatives, resources and services, and features local businesses.
