Earth Day at Downsview Park

  • Downsview Park 70 Canuck Avenue Toronto, ON, M3K 2C5 Canada (map)

It’s back! Downsview Park’s signature event to celebrate Earth Day returns after a two-year hiatus.
Get up-close and personal with birds of prey at a live demonstration, enjoy a campfire with marshmallows and learn about sustainable beekeeping.
Festivities will include a five-kilometre run around the circuit trail, a seedball making activity and an opportunity to create upcycled art using materials such as toilet paper rolls, plastic bottles and milk cartons for those who’d like tap their artistic side. Trishaw rides will also be available for individuals of all abilities to experience the movement of cycling through sections of the Park.
Attendees can participate in a community litter clean up and plant a tree to make a long-lasting impression that will deliver environmental benefits to the Park.
Shop at the outdoor market to discover eco-friendly products for health and wellness, pets and the home. Even treat your four-legged canine family members to a free nail trim.
The fun-filled family affair will offer activities, programing and demonstrations on how to live more sustainably for people of all ages.
Downsview Park offers several trails, paths, gardens and play areas for all to enjoy. It also features Dogsview Park for pups and their paw-rents to run and play off-leash. The Park boasts an 18.3 hectare (45 acre) urban forest that is the anchor for the Park’s wildlife and natural spaces. Visitors who explore the trail will enjoy the sights and sounds of deer, squirrels, rabbits and birds soaring above.
